A Letter to My Mother in Paradise
Subtitle: Grieving, Remembering, and Holding On to Eternal Love
Written in honor of my dearest mother, who returned to her Creator on May 21, 2025
Introduction
There are moments in life that change you forever. The loss of a mother is one such moment—an earthquake that leaves your soul trembling, even as the world keeps moving. This is not just my story, but a reflection for anyone who has ever loved, and lost, the irreplaceable presence of a mother.
On May 21st, 2025, my beloved mother returned to her Creator. Since that moment, not a single day has passed without the ache of her absence or the warmth of her memory. And so today, I write this letter—not only to grieve, but to remember, to honor, and to inspire others to cherish their loved ones while they are still here.
Dear Mama,
Surely, Paradise is your final abode.
Every day I wake up with a heart that knows something precious is missing. Your absence speaks to me louder than words—through the quiet moments, through my thoughts, through the prayers I whisper on your behalf.
You were more than a mother. You were a protector, a nurturer, a friend, a teacher, and a spiritual guide. I’ve searched my reflections, my memories, and the faces of others—and still, I find none who could ever compare to you.
You had a gift, Mama—the ability to feel your child's pain even before we spoke. You sensed our unspoken struggles and became restless until peace returned to our hearts. You carried our worries as if they were your own, and you gave without asking for anything in return.
Even when you were physically weak, your strength in love never wavered. You sacrificed your time, your earnings, your rest—everything—just to make sure we were smiling. And you found your own smile only when you saw ours.
Even on your deathbed, you did not stop praying for us. You whispered blessings with a heart full of faith, even as your breath grew weak. Your love was endless. Your care, eternal.
You never stopped checking on me—even when I was grown. You reminded me that a mother’s love does not age, and a mother’s concern never retires. What you gave me is more than I can ever repay.
To Those Who Mourn Like Me
If you’ve ever lost your mother, know this: the pain doesn’t disappear, but neither does the love. You carry her in your smile, your kindness, your memories, and your prayers.
Let her legacy live through how you care for others, how you pray, how you speak gently—just like she did. Grieve, yes. But also be grateful for having known a love so pure that its absence aches this deeply.
A Prayer and a Promise
May Allah, the Most Merciful, admit you, Mama, into the highest ranks of Jannah (Paradise). May your grave be a garden of peace and light, and may your soul find endless joy.
I promise to continue living in a way that honors what you taught me. I promise to carry your prayers in my heart, and to be a source of good that reflects your love.
Until we meet again, Mama.
With eternal love,
Your child.
Conclusion
Losing a mother is not something you “get over”—it's something you grow through. If you still have your mother, hug her today. Call her. Thank her. Listen to her stories. For those of us who can no longer do that, we hold onto duas (prayers), memories, and the unbreakable bond that not even death can erase.
Final Reflection: Losing a mother leaves a silence only love can echo. Her presence may no longer fill the room, but her spirit forever shapes our days. For those of us who have experienced such a loss, may we find comfort in her memories, strength in her prayers, and purpose in the love she left behind.
Call to Action: If your mother is still alive, cherish every moment, call her, visit her, thank her. And if she has returned to the Creator, honor her with your prayers, your kindness, and by living a life that makes her proud. Reach out to someone grieving a mother today—they may need your warmth more than you know.
“Her hands no longer hold mine, but her prayers still guide me. Her voice is silent, yet her love echoes in all I do.” — Masibwrites
May all departed mothers be granted Jannah.
Ameen.
